I am privileged to serve as Superintendent of the Scituate Public Schools, a system which blends a rich tradition of excellence with great optimism for the future, in a town that values children, education and support for its public schools. At the heart of my mission as Superintendent is my commitment to build upon Scituate’s reputation as a leading public school, to honor and enrich an environment which fosters learning and to be fiscally responsible on behalf of the community.

I am fortunate to become part of a professional learning community that approaches its work with optimism and a tremendous sense of possibility. ScituatePublic Schools' success is directly connected to a dedicated and talented staff, active and strong parental involvement, and a supportive and generous community. ScituatePublic Schools is preparing students for promising futures by providing a challenging curriculum, skilled instruction, and a learning environment that responds to individual student academic needs.

As we look to the future, Scituate has clarity of purpose as identified in the Accountability Plan Phase II (2008-2013). I am invested in SPS’s realization of these goals. Scituate Public Schools is a results-oriented school district that places value on the continuous improvement of our students. Our work is guided by research and by the belief that every student is capable of attaining high-levels of educational achievement in preparation for meeting the rigorous demands of the twenty-first century.

I have already met many of the wonderful team of dedicated administrators, talented teachers and committed support staff, involved families and supportive community members. I look forward to getting to know you and getting to work. Together, with Scituate’s dedicated school committee it is our goal to strengthen the educational excellence for all our students. I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for the Scituate Public Schools!
