Welcome to Gates Intermediate School. On this page, we are offering a Program of Studies for all of the 7th and 8th grade courses offered; our goal is to provide an informative resource which describes the wide range of classes offered to students over the next two years. Summaries of “core” and “specials” subjects are provided as well as an overview of the course of study in each grade.
Our goal is to provide families with pertinent information about the curriculum which your child is about to embark on. This year, students in both grade levels will experience five core subjects, including foreign language, plus five or six specials courses during one academic year.
Combined with a wide variety of after-school clubs and activities, our students have ample opportunities to learn, to discover and to grow both socially and academically. We would appreciate your feedback and invite you to continue to be involved in your child’s education.
Middle school is an exciting time in a student’s life and we believe that you will find our rich and diverse array of courses well-suited for the young adolescent learner. We are proud of our curriculum and we are proud of our staff that is dedicated to the success of every Gates student.
